Limited to 2000 copies. Poison Idea's notoriously brief, punishing debut was released in 1983, a few years after the band formed in Portland, Oregon. Thirteen songs in sixteen minutes. Obviously, not a second wasted. At this juncture, the band consisted of founder and enormous frontman Jerry A., guitarist Tom Roberts - later to be rechristened Pig Champion, due to his porcine build, bassist Chris Tense, and drummer Dean Johnson. With Pick Your King - a reference to Elvis and Jesus, Poison Idea helped establish the paradigm for aggressive American hardcore punk.

Tracklist:

Think Twice

It's An Action

This Thing Called Progress

In My Headache

Underage

Self Abuse

Cult Band

Last One

Pure Hate

Castration

(I Hate) Reggae

Give It Up

Think Fast

*** Indie Exclusive ***
UPC: 840526503865
Label: American Leather
Release Date: 11.27.26
Format: LP

https://www.vinyljunkies.net/products/poison-idea-pick-your-king-lp-indie-exclusive-record-store-day-indie-exclusive-preorder-ships-november-27-2026
