Easily one of modern music's most consistent acts, Californian groove/desert rockers Fu Manchu never cease to amaze with their gargantuan guitar riffs, linear drum beats and hooky vocal lines. On a more independent level, they're like the AC/DC of drone rock/metal, releasing virtually identical albums for years, yet the formula always delivers. One would presume it's because these guys just find killer riffs, milk 'em and never stray from what moves the heart, and bowels, thanks to that unending distortion. So here they are with album number 11, nothing has changed and we don't want it to. From the shifty attack of opener "Bionic Astronauts" through to the grimy slacker feel of "Webfoot Witch Hat" and the King Of The Road-worthy "Take It Away," these guys prove their Infinite Power isn't delusional. In fact, at ten songs and 34 minutes, they're becoming more streamlined and poignant with every passing year. Nothing surprising but Signs Of Infinite Power is still engaging, cadence-heavy rock'n'roll.
