Pixies - Doolittle LP (180g)

"AS LOUD AS HELL..." Though they had already made their mark with Surfer Rosa, Doolittle cemented The Pixies as one of the most interesting and dynamic bands in indie rock. An important record, included among the many plaudits thrown Doolittle's way was Pitchfork ranking it at Number 4 in their Best Albums of the 80s poll, while NME writers in 2004 named it their Second Best Album of All Time.

The Pixies were masters of dynamics (check out 'Monkey Gone to Heaven,' or 'Hey'), moving from quietly subdued to all-out head-banging and back. Black Francis was one of the most unique vocal stylists of the '80s. His duets with bassist Deal, 'I Bleed' and 'Silver,' work the way Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong worked together. If you want straight ahead pop then 'Debaser' and 'Here Comes Your Man' this 1989 album had everything and was never bettered.
