Joe Satriani and Steve Vai - The Sea of Emotion CD (Digipak) (Preorder: Ships November 6, 2026)

The CD Digipak edition of "The Sea Of Emotion" features 10 tracks and marks the first collaborative studio album by Joe Satriani and Steve Vai under the name SatchVai.

"The Sea Of Emotion" sees two distinct musical styles collide directly: Satriani’s melodic, song-oriented approach and Vai’s expressive, often unpredictable playing. Rather than simply placing the two guitarists side-by-side, the album thrives on the exchange of ideas—ranging from straightforward rock songs and complex arrangements to extended guitar passages.

Joe Satriani: “The biggest surprise was that we write in completely different ways, and that’s what made the project so fun and interesting.”

With tracks like "Mayhem," "Bronco Freight Train," "Dancing," "I Wanna Play My Guitar" (featuring Glenn Hughes), and the three-part "The Sea Of Emotion" suite, the album showcases the full scope of their collaboration. The expanded lineup includes Billy Sheehan, Kenny Aronoff, Mike Mangini, and Marco Mendoza, among others.
